We here are the Underground Alliance Recording Studio had a fantastic time working Jake Cormier’s first session with us. A regular partner in crime to Richie Young, Cormier is well adapt to a similar style of the blues, with a little more traditional rock n’ roll fuelling his fire.
Throughout the evening of Jake’s session, we completed a original single, and wrapped up with a video performance of another of his tunes. Richie even stopped in to lay down a saucy harmonica track. The first thing that really stood out to me when working with Jake, was his voice. He may be a little soft spoken to talk to in person, but it was a whole other level when he opened up in front of the mic. Smooth, deep, powerful, and on pitch. Some of the most impressive vocals before hitting an FX chain that I’ve had the pleasure to work with.
Jake Cormier is a regular performer down at the Wilser’s Room, and has played the Folk & Blues Night at the Charlotte St Arts Centre. Make sure to keep your eyes peeled for when this underground up-comer makes it big, because it will only be a matter of time.
